REAL-TIME SAMPLING
Cobra Plug-in GPR uses Real-Time Sampling of the radar signal. Today, large manufacturers use traditional intermittent sequential sampling, which gives only a down-converted copy of the real signal.
Real-Time Sampling provides 32,000 stacks per second, resulting in an incredible signal-to-noise ratio of 45 dB.
Note that an increase S/N ratio of only 30 db is roughly twice the penetration capability of a typical conventional GPR system.
A low-voltage transmitter reduces power consumption and eliminates playback. The use of power-consuming, high-voltage transmitters is no longer required, in which case the power of the transmitter must be increased by 32,000 times to be comparable!
THE ADVANTAGE OF REAL-TIME SAMPLING
Dec dec February 2012, we conducted a comparison study between COBRA PLUG-IN GPR, Real-Time Sampling GPR and traditional Sequential/Intermediate Layer Sampling GPR, GSSI SIR-3000 GPR.
The performance work was carried out on the same day, on an ice road crossing the Lule River, and the same SE-150 model antennas were used.
LESS RINGING: Wireless operation is explained by the absence of cables and a lower transmitter output voltage (40V versus 1200V).;
LESS HIGH-FREQUENCY NOISE: It appears as “snow” or “speck" on the lower sample of the SIR-3000 data. (45 dB increased S/N ratio);
BETTER RESOLUTION: Monostatic antenna for Cobra Plug-in GPR and Bistatic for SIR-3000 (reflections smeared with SIR-3000)
WIRELESS
The wireless Bluetooth connection between the GPR and the control unit replaces decaying coaxial cables and fragile fiber optic connections. For data collection, an ultra-Rugged Mesa PDA with embedded software is used. The data is stored in the standard SEGY geophysical format.
The complete GPR unit is attached to a single SUBECHO Antenna, any selectable model. No need for bistatic configuration.
All SUBECHO antennas can be used by air and in air-connected operation, as well as in all types of terrain. There is no need to cut off trail paths anymore, snake antennas connected to the ground even in dense bush vegetation did not have crossing problems. Lift the antenna over the bushes or, in the worst case, use an octocopter UAV to transport the small and compact Cobra Attachment.
Wireless operation, hand-held data recorder, low power consumption and aerial antenna with air connection october flexibility, robustness and durability, and the most compact and deepest penetrating GPR system on the market.
